Progressive Care Nurse New

Job Title: RN PCU

Location:Dayton, Ohio, 45409

Contract duration: 13 weeks

Shift:12X4-hours

Schedule: Nights

Guaranteed Hours: 48/week

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to PCU patients with neurological and respiratory conditions
• Monitor and assess vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neuro status
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, drips (non-titrating), and oxygen delivery systems
• Perform care for ventilated and trach patients
• Collaborate in a team nursing model with LPNs and PCTs to divide workload efficiently
• Assist in post-op care for complex neuro surgeries and spine procedures
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatment goals, and discharge instructions
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in EPIC
• Follow all hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards
• Participate in float assignments as needed to Neuro ICU or other campuses

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Ohio or compact state
• Minimum 1.5 years recent PCU/Stepdown experience
• Ventilator experience required
• Experience with BiPAP, high flow oxygen, heated high flow systems
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS – REQUIRED
